About This Recipe
This happens to me way too often: it's 5 pm, and I have no idea what to make for dinner. Luckily, I live right above a grocery store, so I can easily get ingredients for whatever comes to mind. I start searching on Pinterest for ideas, but nothing piques my interest. Eventually, I think about just ordering takeout.
Then I remember that BEEF AND NOODLES are a thing. I have all the ingredients on hand, so I don't need to do any shopping either. Well...almost. I actually have to run down stairs to get some parsley because, as food bloggers, we garnish everything with parsley.
Anyway, that is a legitimate thing that happens to me all the time. I want to cook and be creative, but after a long day, sometimes the best thing to do is fall back on a tried-and-true recipe. For me, that's beef and noodles!
This recipe is incredibly easy to make. The result is creamy, beefy noodles that everyone in the family will enjoy. I will say that it does lack veggies, so maybe go pick up some broccoli and air-fry it or steam it!
Key Ingredients

Egg noodles: These are my favorite noodles to eat with beef. They are a bit more tender and rich.
Olive oil: For sauteeing the beef, onions, and garlic
Ground beef: I recommend using lean ground beef to make the dish a bit healthier. We will be adding sour cream, so there will be plenty of creaminess from that.
Onions and garlic: Provide the savory base for the sauce.
Flour: Helps thicken the sauce.
Beef broth: Any brand of beef broth will do. Do keep in mind that some beef broths are very salty, so you may not need to add any salt to this dish.
Worcestershire sauce: I still have auto-correct fix this word for me every time. Anyway, this is a key component for the flavor of the sauce. It's savory and tangy and brings it to the next level.
Dried thyme: Gives a really great flavor to the sauce. You can also use poultry seasoning (I know...right..)
Sour cream: For creaminess. I use full-fat sour cream as it gives the creamiest texture, and another bonus is that full-fat is less likely to curdle than lower-fat.
Salt and pepper: Add to your own taste. I personally love lots of black pepper on my beef and noodles.
Instructions

STEP 1: Bring a medium pot of water to a boil and cook the egg noodles according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.

STEP 2: Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the beef, onions, and garlic for 6-7 minutes until the beef is no longer pink.

STEP 3: Stir in the flour and mix until combined.

STEP 4: Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme, and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

STEP 5: Remove from the heat and stir in the sour cream. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Mix with the noodles and enjoy!
