Air Fryer Broccoli is an easy way to cook broccoli, and I think it tastes even better than roasting! Broccoli is coated in olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper, air-fried, then drizzled with fresh lemon juice. Ready in less than 15 minutes!

    About This Recipe

Ever since I got my air fryer, I've cooked all sorts of delicious food in it. I highly recommend getting one if you don't have one. Its been a life saver when i need food on the table fast! My air fryer is now my number one most used appliance in my house, and my favorite recipe to cook with it is air-fried broccoli!

The key to delicious broccoli in the air fryer is to not overcrowd the basket. We need the broccoli to be in a single layer so that the tops can have direct contact with the hot air. This will allow the tops to develop a beautiful charred flavor.

Luckily for me, I have a 6 quartz air fryer, so I can fit almost 2 crowns of broccoli inside. If your air fryer is smaller, you may need to cook only 1 crown at a time.

    Key Ingredients

    required ingredients prepped in bowls.

I always say simple is best. That's why this recipe only has 6 ingredients: broccoli, olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and fresh lemon wedges. The lemon wedges are squeezed on at the end so that it doesn't lose any of its fresh flavor.

    Instructions

broccoli florets being tossed with oil and seasonings in bowl.

STEP 1: In a large bowl, toss the broccoli with the olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic. The garlic tends to settle at the bottom so make sure you scoop from the bottom when you mix.

broccoli florets arranged in air fryer basket.

STEP 2: Transfer the broccoli to a single layer in the air fryer basket. Try to leave a little bit of space between each floret, as this will allow for better air circulation.

broccoli after air-frying for 8 minutes; tops of florets are charred and florets have shrunken slightly.

STEP 3: Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping once halfway through so that both sides cook evenly. Pro tip: if you want a more tender texture, add 1 tablespoon of water to the bottom of the basket when you start air frying. This will create steam during cooking.

broccoli florets with lemon juice squeezed on them.

STEP 4: Finally, squeeze on as much fresh lemon juice as you like. Me and my wife like it with lots. Enjoy!
