    About This Recipe

Perfect for a weeknight meal, these air fryer boneless chicken thighs are so easy to make! These chicken thighs are rubbed with a flavorful spice rub, then air-fried until crisp on the edges and perfectly cooked. They're so juicy, tender, and flavorful. I served mine with a side of rice, Greek Salad, and Macaroni Salad, and it was the perfect dinner.

I know a lot of you love chicken breast recipes, but if I can even slightly turn you toward chicken thighs, I'll be happy. Chicken thighs are so incredibly juicy. More juicy than chicken breasts. They have a bit of fat, which helps keep them tender and flavorful even when they're overcooked. Your thighs can land anywhere in the range of 160 to 180F, and they will come out delicious and moist.

In my testing, 12โ€“14 minutes was perfect for achieving juicy chicken thighs in my air fryer. The exact time can vary slightly depending on your air fryer and how thick your chicken thighs are. I recommend using a meat thermometer to check for doneness rather than relying on time alone.

    Key Ingredients

    ingredients prepped in bowls.

Boneless skinless chicken thighs: I like boneless chicken thighs because they cook really quickly. For this recipe, you can use as many as you can fit in your air fryer, which is 4-6 pieces for most people.

Olive oil: This helps the spices adhere to the chicken.

Seasonings: I used paprika, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, and salt. Feel free to use your favorite spice rub.

    Instructions

boneless chicken thighs mixed with spices in bowl.

STEP 1: Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel and transfer to a large bowl. Add the olive oil and seasonings, and coat the chicken thoroughly.

Note: At this point, the chicken is ready to be cooked, but if you want the best results, I recommend marinating for at least 30 minutes.

raw, seasoned chicken thighs in air fryer basket.

STEP 2: Preheat your air fryer to 400ยฐF. Spread the chicken thighs in the air fryer basket. Try to leave some room between each one so air can circulate properly.

chicken thighs after air-frying; golden brown and crisp.

STEP 3: Air-fry for 6 minutes. Flip and air fry for another 6-8 minutes until the inside reaches at least 160ยฐF. Let the chicken thighs rest for 5 minutes before slicing so that the juices can redistribute, and your thighs will be even more juicy.
