    About This Recipe

No Thanksgiving is complete without a pumpkin pie! I remember when my wife and I first started dating, we would make one every Thanksgiving. Funny story, the year she met my parents, we made one after dinner, and after everyone had a slice, my dad took the rest of the pie to his mancave.

This pumpkin pie is SO easy to make- seriously. All you do is whisk together the ingredients, then pour them into a pie crust, and bake for 40-ish minutes.

The way my wife and I usually do it, we make the pie filling ahead of time and chill it in the fridge. Once the turkey is out of the oven, we immediately put the pie in, and by the time everyone is done eating, the pie is ready. Efficiency!

My standards for pumpkin pie are extremely high, so take my word when I say this one is super good. And for the amount of effort, it is really worth making. The filling is so smooth, perfectly spiced, and packed with pumpkin flavor.

    Key Ingredients

    ingredients prepped in bowls.

Frozen pie crust: You'll need a 9-inch deep-dish pie crust. Follow the instructions on the box on how ot defrost it.

Canned pumpkin puree: You can also make your own pumpkin puree from roasting a pumpkin, but canned pumpkin is much easier. Libby's is probably the most popular brand.

Sweetened condensed milk: The sweetened condensed milk is where all the sweetness comes from.

Eggs: This is ultimately what sets the filling into its custardy form. You only need 2 eggs. I accidentally put 3 in the picture, sorry.

Pumpkin pie spice: You can use store-bought or follow my recipe here!

Vanilla extract: I love the warm flavor of vanilla in pumpkin desserts.

Salt: Just a tiny bit to bring out all the flavors.
