A classic Caesar Salad is one of the most popular recipes in the world. I grew up making it all the time because my family loved Caesar salads, and I loved recreating restaurant dishes at home. This recipe is incredibly easy to make. All you do is combine the dressing ingredients, then toss it with greens. This recipe makes enough dressing for at least six large plates of salad, so make sure to buy lots of romaine!

    About This Recipe

Caesar Salad is probably my favorite salad. I remember eating it a lot growing up because my brother and I used to have this caucasian friend whose family would take us out to Western restaurants all the time (like Swiss Chalet and White Spot). I would pretty much always order a full-sized Caesar salad or substitute my fries in another dish for Caesar salad.

Eventually, I learned to make it at home! It's so easy that I feel bad for making my friend's family pay full price for it so often ๐Ÿ˜†.

My parents also really liked Caesar salads. Whenever my mom didn't feel like cooking, she would ask me to make it for lunch or dinner. To me, Caesar salad is not complete without some grilled chicken, so I always grilled some chicken breasts to go along with it.

    Key Ingredients

    ingredients prepped in bowls.

For the dressing, you will need mayonnaise, parmesan, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, dijon mustard, fresh garlic, salt, ground pepper, and optionally anchovy paste.

For the salad, you will need romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, croutons, and extra parmesan for sprinkling. For the croutons, I couldn't find any at the grocery store, so I just cubed up a few slices of bread and baked them in the oven at 275F for about 50 minutes.

    Instructions

dressing ingredients being whisked together in bowl.

STEP 1: Combine all the dressing ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until combined. At this point, the dressing is ready to be used. This recipe makes enough dressing for at least six large servings of salad.

chopped romaine lettuce being tossed with dressing in large white bowl.

STEP 2: To a large bowl, add as much romaine lettuce as you need, then toss with SOME of the Caesar salad dressing (use a little at first, then add more to taste depending on how much salad you're making).

STEP 3: Transfer the lettuce to a large plate and top with more parmesan, croutons, and grilled chicken.

This classic Caesar salad is easy to make. I decided to serve it with grilled chicken, but feel free to serve it without it.
