Tiramisu

Tiramisu is an Italian dessert made with layers of mascarpone cream and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. You can easily make it at home in just 20 minutes- no baking required! If you don't want to use mascarpone, you can also use cream cheese mixed with a bit of sour cream (see notes!)

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until soft. Add the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla, and beat until stiff peaks form, about 3 minutes.
  • In a shallow dish, combine the coffee and dark rum.
  • Dip the lady fingers in the coffee (the dip should be in and out instantly- do not soak the lady fingers otherwise they will be soggy) and lay them in a single layer in an 8x8 baking dish.
  • Spread half the mascarpone on top, followed by another layer of lady fingers, followed by the rest of the mascarpone.
  • Dust the top with cocoa powder, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

Notes

Mascarpone: You can substitute the mascarpone for 1 cup of cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of sour cream.
