Creamed Peas On Toast
This Creamed Peas on Toast recipe is very nostalgic to me. I grew up eating it as a kid in the 90s. This recipe uses frozen peas, but it still tastes just as good (and even better, in my opinion) as the classic version with canned peas.

Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Add the frozen peas and cook for 1 minute. Drain. If you're using canned peas, you can skip this step.
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add flour and stir constantly for 2-3 minutes until the color changes to a light golden and stops foaming.
Slowly pour in the milk and stir constantly until the mixture thickens. Add the black pepper, salt, and drained peas. Cook for 1 minute.
Toast four pieces of bread and spread butter on each one.
Scoop some creamed peas over the buttered toast and optionally add some more ground pepper on top. Enjoy!
