Classic Apple Pie
This old-fashioned apple pie is easy to make, and will have grandmas asking you for the recipe! It has two buttery pie crusts filled with gooey cinnamon apples.

Preheat your oven to 425°F and set the rack in the lower-middle position.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the apples, lemon juice, flour, sugars, and spices.
Line a 9-inch pie plate with the bottom crust.
Pour the apple mixture into the crust, and dot with the butter.
Roll the second pie crust and place it on top of the apple mixture.
Press the edges of both pie crusts together to seal and crimp the edges. Cut slits in the top of the pie to create some vents for steam to escape.
Brush the crust with egg wash and sprinkle with additional sugar, if desired.
Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to 375°F and continue baking for 35-45 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
