I am thoroughly enjoying my air-fryer for all sorts of foods. Recently, I needed some fried fish balls for a curry fish ball recipe and I tried air-frying them instead. They turned out really well. The outside got nice and golden brown. The only downside was that they took on a wrinkly appearance after cooling down.
In a large bowl, toss the fish balls with a tablespoon of oil. Try to get a little bit oil on all the fish balls.
Fill the air fryer basket with as many balls as it can hold in a single layer. Try not to fill more than this as they expand quite a bit during cooking.
Air-fry frozen fish balls for 20 minutes and fresh fish balls for 18 minutes. Toss the fish balls every 3-5 minutes to ensure all sides get an even browning.
