Garlic bread is one of those menu items I always have to get when I order pizza. This copycat Pizza Hut Garlic bread is really easy to make at home, and it's way cheaper. The garlic spread is where all the magic happens. You can also top them with cheese to take them to the next level.

๐Ÿง„ How To Make The Garlic Spread

The most important part of any garlic bread is the garlic spread. Most recipes only use minced garlic and butter, but that's not enough. If you want a restaurant-quality flavor, you need to add more ingredients.

My family used to own a pizza restaurant (not Pizza Hut), so I know what the garlic spread should be. We always added extra ingredients like garlic salt, black pepper, and oregano. The flavor comes out much better.

If you don't have garlic salt, you can use garlic powder and salt instead. Just mix about 1 part garlic powder with 3 parts salt.

    ๐Ÿง‚ Ingredients

    garlic bread ingredients
    • Bread: Any type of bread works. Baguettes or ciabatta bread would be my first pick. Milk bread, potato bread, and sourdough are also great options.
    • Garlic butter: Unsalted butter, minced garlic, garlic salt, black pepper, and oregano. You can grate the garlic with a microplane or mince it finely with a knife. The finer you mince it, the stronger the flavor. Oregano can also be substituted with Italian seasoning.
    • Cheese: This is totally optional, but you can add shredded mozzarella cheese before baking them.

STEP 1: Mix butter, garlic, garlic salt, black pepper, and oregano in a small bowl. You can store this spread in the fridge for up to one week.

STEP 2: Spread a small amount of garlic butter on each slice of bread. Transfer slices to a baking sheet butter-side up.

STEP 3: Bake in a 450โ„‰ oven on the upper middle rack for 5-7 minutes until the edges are golden brown and crispy. You can also air-fry at 400โ„‰ for 2 minutes. Serve immediately.
