With the delicious copycat Chick-Fil-A Sauce recipe, you can skip the restaurant and make it right at home! Made with only five ingredients: mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, honey, mustard, and lemon juice, it tastes just like the real thing (and even better if you ask my wife!)

    About This Recipe

Of course, you can just go to Chick-Fil-A to buy their sauce, but once you realize how easy it is to make yourself, you will never buy it again. It's seriously so easy! You only need five ingredients, and you just mix them together in a bowl. And once made, the sauce will last for a week in the fridge- hurray for having dip all week long! Enjoy it with chicken tenders, waffle fries, or whatever else you want to dip in it.

This sauce has the perfect balance of creamy, tangy, smoky, and sweet. I had a bunch of leftover Chick-fil-A sauce packets in my fridge, so I was able to compare the taste as I developed this recipe. I've seen a few recipes that only use mayo, BBQ sauce, mustard, and honey, but I do think it tastes closer to the real thing with a squeeze of lemon juice. Taste and try it out yourself. The beauty of homemade recipes is that you can adjust the ingredients to your own taste. If you think it's too sour, just add less lemon juice!

    Key Ingredients

    ingredients prepped in bowls.

Mayonnaise: A good-quality mayonnaise is always key to making delicious sauces. For this recipe, I recommend Hellman's, Kraft, or Miracle Whip brand mayonnaise. Though I will admit I have thoroughly been enjoying the Kirkland brand of mayonnaise lately.

Barbecue sauce: Use your favorite barbecue sauce! I recommend one that is smoky and not too sweet.

Honey: For natural sweetness! You can also use granulated sugar or maple syrup.

Yellow mustard: Make sure you just use classic yellow mustard and not Dijon. We want the tangy flavor of yellow mustard, not the heat from Dijon.

Lemon juice: A little bit of lemon juice helps all the flavors pop.

    Instructions

spoon lifting sauce out of bowl.

STEP 1: Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl. Use immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to one week.
